Maintain a healthy glow for your skin

Why is it important to have healthy skin? It protects us from the external environment and prevents germs from invading our body. Aesthetically, smooth skin with even coloration makes us feel secure and confident.

We don’t realize how much harm we place on our skin by damaging this barrier function. A third of the outer layer of skin is made of lipids or fats. Our skin can get flaky or irritated when we wash them with soaps or solvents – some people with eroded skin are more likely to get secondary infections.

That’s where fruit comes in! It’s a natural way for our skin to be healthy. We know the importance of consuming fruit as they provide us with so many vitamins and nutrients. But, did you ever think of using them on your skin and hair?

I have dry skin and hair all the time. Any solutions? Buy pineapple, chop about half a cup and cover your dried elbows or knees. Pineapple gets rid of the dead skin cells providing that much needed moisture.

For soft, healthy hair, add vitamin A, which makes your hair very shiny. Combine melons and bananas forming a thick paste and apply generously to your hair. Enjoy the massage! Then wash and style.

I want to prevent aging skin. Are there any strategies out there? By know you’ve probably heard of the famous antioxidants, which promote healthy skin. Massage mashed red grapes into your face, leave about ten minutes, wash away and pat dry.

I have dark spots on my face. What should I do? Think of vitamin C rich fruits such as oranges, lemons, grapefruit, pineapple or kiwi. They’re so rich in antioxidants! Use lemon juice to lighten those spots. Just dab a cotton ball soaked in lemon juice on those spots.

If you have oily skin, you can make your own homemade cleanser or mask with citrus fruits as their acidic level decrease that greasy look. And what about my hair-do? For great looking hair, juice one or two oranges and add to your favorite shampoo.

I want to moisture my skin naturally. Do you have any ideas? Avocado is high in vitamin E, another important antioxidant and a great moisturizer. Mash half an avocado, apply to your dry spots only. Rinse after fifteen minutes. You can also choose avocado for a hair mask that will fortify your hair follicles and provide that delightful smoothness. You’re already glowing – inside and out!
